The Annual Civic Carol Service was held on Friday, 9th December, 2011 and yet again, we were greatly entertained by the Somercotes Guides, Brownies  and Rainbows and their Leaders.  Heage Brass Band performed to their usual high standard, and Father Theo Holmes led the service and prayers.   Councillor Paul Smith, Chairman of the Parish Council, presented Father Theo with a gift to say thank you for taking services for the Parish Council since the retirement of Father Geoff Knox two years ago.  Councillor Smith’s chosen charity for the collection was the Parish Church of St. Thomas, and £144 was raised
