Congratulations to Parish Warden Colin Rick who has completed 21 years of service with Somercotes Parish Council and is a familiar face in the village.  Colin began work on the 9 June 1997.  In those days he worked alone until  joined by fellow warden, Les Briddon in 2007.  Today Colin carries out a number of vital services for the community including litter picking, planting, skip services and lots more.  Colin’s interests are photography and  walking in the Peak district with friends,  which he enjoys most weekends.

Cllr John McCabe, Chairman of Somercotes Parish Council said:  “Col is a valued member of staff who together with his colleague Les, is a popular member of the community.  I would like to thank Colin on behalf of the Council for his hard work over the past 21 years.  He is an asset not only to the Council but also to the parish and I look forward to his continuing contribution for years to come.
