Phase 2 of the development of the ponds is underway, and should have been completed by the time this newsletter goes out. The development work to provide footpaths and fishing pegs has cost £50,000, and has been funded by contributions from local businesses, the Environment Trust, Somercotes Parish Council and the Derbyshire County Council Community Priority Scheme.

J C Balls is providing recycled stone for the project. The work is being carried out on behalf of the Pennytown Ponds Group by Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire.
