A CONTROVERSIAL proposal to build industrial units on a greenfield site near Somercotes has been approved despite being rejected twice by planners.
Clowes Development Ltd applied for outline planning permission for warehouses and other commercial premises on 27.8 acres of grazing land off Birchwood Lane but the plans were twice voted against by Amber Valley Borough Council's planning board.
