Adam Marriott, a 26 year old local man, won the Alfreton Photography Competition held in September2009, with this photograph taken from Selston, looking towards Pinxton. It was entitled “Early Morning Mist”.

He was interviewed on BBC Radio Derby and the photograph was used by BBC East Midlands Today for their weather report.

Adam was presented with a bottle of champagne and a large box of Thorntons chocolates at The Bar, High Street, Alfreton. He is a keen photographer and has donated the photograph of Pennytown Ponds taken during the recent cold spell, especially for our newsletter.
