I hope that everyone enjoyed the festivities over the Christmas and New Year period.  The Parish Council and St Thomas Church again jointly hosted the annual Christmas Carol Concert and were delighted to welcome Santa who popped in this year to distribute selection boxes!  Donations received of £300 were divided equally between charities for breast and prostate cancer.

Talking of festivities, the Council has recently agreed a new contract for the provision of Christmas Lights and displays. The old lights have been replaced and the motifs and tree lights updated .  I certainly saw the difference and I hope you did too. 

We have been busy extending and renovating the bar area in the Village Hall.  As bookings for social events have increased, the bar became inadequate to meet demand and accommodate staff safely.   However, I am happy to report that if you require a bar for your function, the Village Hall will again be available for bookings from 26th March 2020.  

Finally, as we begin another new year, I cannot do so without expressing my great sadness at the passing of my friend and colleague, Cllr Brian Lyttle.
